Dr. Mitchell is active in innovative pedagogy. He was awarded a “One Year Plus Teaching Fellowship” at New Mexico State University in 2015 and has been elevated to be a Distinguished Member of the NMSU Teaching Academy. He previously received the “Striving for Excellence in College and University Teaching” award from the University of Notre Dame.
