USGS Geographic Names Information Server:  Searchable database for official U.S. names of physical and cultural geographic features.

US Census Bureau :  Search for incorporated place names, counties, minor civil divisions (i.e, county subdivisions) or zip codes.  Provides U.S. census data and mapping.

Geographical Locator:  Provides detailed information geographic location, political units, ecoregions, maps and other data for any point you click on a base map.
