Mission and Philosophy
The mission of the Performance Training Program
is to assist student-athletes in their efforts to improve athletic
performance, providing the physical edge necessary to compete and
win at the NCAA Division I level.
For an athlete to achieve success in their chosen
sport they must possess and continually enhance their knowledge, skills
and abilities in three domains, tactical technical, and physical conditioning.
The performance training staff is responsible primarily for the physical-conditioning
where the tactical and technical aspects for each sport are handled
by the sport coach.

Methods
· Produce optimal results in conditioning
with minimum time requirements by reducing unnecessary or redundant
activities that reduce time and energy of the athlete needed to apply
to the tactical and technical domains
· Design and apply training programs base
on principles supported by the scientific body of knowledge specific
to the profession.
· Use predominately ground base multi-jointed
movement patterns in the weight-training portion of the program.
· Accelerate the athlete's healthy return
to competition through reconditioning programs specifically design
to address the previously injured site.
