Biographical Information
Tony Mc Clure has been an Assistant Performance
Training Coach at New Mexico State University since 1999. Prior to
that he had stints at Junior Colleges and High Schools in Arizona.
He served as the Assistant Special Teams Coordinator and worked closely
with the strength and conditioning program at Mesa Community College.
Tony is a Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist with Distinction through the National Strength and Conditioning
Association. Most recently, he was the first person to become certified
as a Periodization Planning Specialist and Strength and Conditioning
Expert through the Tudor Bompa Institute. Additionally, Tony is a
Certified Conditioning Specialist through the National Sports Performance
Association, and holds 6 different certifications from the International
Sports Sciences Association through which he also received the "Lifetime
Achievement Award" in 1999. He was an instructor for Ray Pelfreys
Professional Kicking Services from 1991-1998, and authored several
articles on strength and conditioning for kicking in the National
Kicking Quarterly.
Tony received his BA in Physical Education from
Arizona State University graduating with Magma Cum Lauda honors. Academic
honors include induction into Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor
Society (1990), Golden Key National Honor Society (1991), being included
in the National Deans List 10th Annual Edition Volume 2, 1986-87,
and inclusion into the Directory of Outstanding College Students of
America Volume 4, 1989-90.
