Faculty Spotlight:  Dr. Ivan Dylko

 

Dr. Ivan Dylko has recently joined New Mexico State University as an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies. He is researching how communication technology transformation affects various political outcomes, such as political participation, political knowledge, political information processing, and sociology of political news. Dr. Dylko is currently examining the nature and implications of political user-generated content for the U.S. political system. Dr. Dylko will teach communication theory, persuasion, research methods, political communication, and other courses at NMSU. Raised by two life-long educators in Russia, Dr. Dylko is looking forward to teaching, interacting with, and engaging NMSU students in research. Dr. Dylko has earned his Doctoral degree in 2011 and Master's degree in 2007 from Ohio State University. He has earned his Bachelor's degree from Alcorn State University in 2005. In his spare time Dr. Dylko enjoys hiking, learning to play blues guitar, and working out.  Dr. Dylko conducts research on political communication and communication technology.  Check out his blog: www.ivandylko.blogspot.com
