National Security & Communication Minor

A minor in national security and communication will help you to develop a foundational knowledge base focused on intelligence and analysis through communication theory, processes, and methods. You will earn a minor in national security and communication by successful completion of 12 credit hours of required courses and 6 credit hours from the approved courses listed below:

Who Should Consider This Minor?

Communication studies support the development of professional attributes associated with analysis and research. 

Perhaps you are:

* Interested in learning more about how our Intelligence Community supports national security policies and requirements. 

* Studying Military Science through the Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC) and would benefit from Intelligence-related study.

* Active duty in the Military and would like to use your education benefits to advance your academic credentials in an area appropriate to your mission.

* Studying economics and would be interested in working for the government as an analyst.

* Studying geography and would be interested in working for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

* Studying engineering, mathematics, computer science, or physics and would be interested in a career with a government agency as a technical analyst.

* Studying a foreign language and interested in using your skills as a regional analyst with a government agency.

* The Physical Science Laboratory has been providing internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to support government research requirements for over 60 years.
