ASHA is the governing body of all things related to Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.  Through their website, you can access information that may be of interest to you.  The website lists events, such as their annual ASHA Convention, with detailed information about what takes place.

New Mexico Speech Language Hearing Association (NMSHA)

The NMSHA website caters to Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists in our state, offering information in a variety of areas.  You can find information regarding: Administration and Planning, Audiology, Communications, Convention, Governmental Affairs, Professional Affairs, as well as Public Information.

The 49th Annual NMSHA Convention took place in October of 2011 at the Sheraton Hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  A plethora of speakers attended, giving short courses to attendees on a variety of topics.  This year, five our own NMSU NSSLHA members (Genevieve Munoz, Jessica Olivas, Zully Garcia, Jason Saenz, and Gabriela Perez) were invited to participate in the convention as volunteers.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)

The national chapter of NSSLHA has its very own website with a ton of information for aspiring Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.  Through the NSSLHA website, you can become a national member (annual dues of $60.00), which gains you access to a variety of publications and materials.  Not only do you gain access to invaluable journals and other publications, you receive special discounts. Undergradauates and graduate students who wish to attend the National ASHA Convention are eligible for a reduced convention fee of $200.
