(In a refereed journal, articles are reviewed by a panel of experts in the field and must follow specific research guidelines.) Does the author present information from a personal point of view and/or a variety of points of view? Is the information accurate, unbiased, and evidence-based? Does the source add to your knowledge base? |
| Restitution and Moral Intelligence
Use the questions, Web sites below, and other credible resources to further investigate and reflect on critical topics in this chapter. Discuss them with interested individuals in your setting or with a small group in an electronic Chat Room. 1. How might the three steps of the Restitution Triangle be applied in your setting? 2. How does sharing of family beliefs and public school classroom beliefs help students create solutions to problems that arise? 3. What specific ideas for teaching the seven essential virtues (empathy, conscience, self-control, respect, kindness, tolerance, and fairness) of moral intelligence do you or would you use in your setting? 4. What specific ideas would help to teach and learn other "prosocial behaviors" (e.g. sportsmanship, greeting others, conversation, "polite" words)? |
