| Chapter 3 : The Special Challenges of Neurological Based Behavior Questions and Activities |
1. In your journal devoted to the principles for building a personal system of discipline, make entries from this chapter that you might wish to incorporate into the overall system of discipline you will later construct. 2. In cooperation with one or more classmates or fellow teachers, go back to Scenario 1 at the beginning of the chapter. Discuss how you might help Tyler move past his inappropriate behavior. The commentary from Tay's teacher in Scenario 4 might help you organize your thoughts. Share your conclusions with peers and ask for their comments. 3. Individually or in collaboration with others, select Scenario 4, 5, or 6. With a partner discuss what you might do to minimize the disruptive behavior of the student involved and otherwise improve the overall situation. 4. Select one of the NBB diagnoses described in the chapter and see how much information you can find about it on the Internet. Report back to your peers or classmates. |
