The NMSU Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers will be hosting its 2nd Annual Regional Science Bowl competition for high school students on Saturday, March 1st, 2008. A minimum of 16 high school teams from southern New Mexico and El Paso, TX have been invited to participate in this academic tournament. The winning high school team from the NMSU site will move on to the national finals in Washington, D.C.

We would like invite fellow Aggies to serve as judges at this event. We will need volunteers for the following positions: Moderator, Scorekeeper, Timekeeper, Rules Judge, Science Judge, and other general duties. Some judges will have to volunteer for the duration of the event from 7am to 4pm. Other volunteers will be dismissed as teams are eliminated during the competition. Additionally, we will also provide lunch for all volunteers that help out for at least 4 hours.

This is a fun way to earn on-campus community service hours that can be used to receive future ASNMSU funding for your club.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Eric Rodriguez (575) 636-7037 or ericrodr@nmsu.edu
