The first scholarships were distributed in May of 2009 to two outstanding Nursing students at ESU who were in Johanna’s cohort. Providing that we have enough funding, the scholarship will be distributed annually. Often, people have asked if there is something they can do for Johanna's family or for me. This memorial scholarship is my response.

We have created a memorial fund to honor Johanna's memory. Donations fund the scholarship that goes to a nursing student at East Stroudsburg University (ESU). Nursing majors in good standing may apply if they meet the requirements set forth for the scholarship. The applicant who is awarded the scholarship will share some of Johanna's traits and demonstrate superb nursing skills in a clinical setting. The recipient will be selected by a committee made up of ESU Nursing faculty members who will select the winner based on strict criteria. |

A donation of any amount is welcome. If you are interested in donating, please print and fill out the donation sheet on the following page. Make a check payable to ESU SAA, and mail both the donation sheet and the check to the address listed below. Please be sure to include the donation sheet so the donation can be allocated correctly. Alternatively, you may wish to make a donation via PayPal . |
