Freezing and Boiling Points of Aqueous Solutions (Kf=1.86, Kb=0.512 °C/m)
This page is an exercise in colligative properties. When you press "New Problem" a solute formula appears in the first cell and values appear in the next two cells. Determine the values of the freezing and boiling points of the solution, enter them into the cells and press "Check Answer." Results appear in the second table. If for some reason the quiz does not work, try another version.
- Be careful about dissociating solutes
- All solutions are treated as ideal and it is assumed there are no additional processes beyond the possible solute dissociation, such as acid/base reactions.
- If you miss a problem three times, pressing the "Show Answer" button will display a complete solution to appear.
