Disclaimer.

The goals of this project include providing students and instructors with alternative ways of doing chemistry exercises as well as some tools and techniques to master both quantitative and technical aspects of chemistry. The benefits include but likely are not limited to:

For students For instructors
- easy access to a variety of quizzes and useful tools on differenet topics
- ability to control your grade by exercising
- no peer (or instructor's) pressure on trying the same problem a few times at your own pace
- 24/7 available very patient tutor who shows proper solutions to various chemistry problems
- since quizzes are randomly generated, there is no need for making every time a unique one
- automatic grading without your or TA's involvement but maintaining the deadlines and giving students an opportunity to have perfect grade if they want to

Many of the drills and exercises provided here are adapted from the CSUDH WWW Project for Chemistry. Thanks to the director of the poject, George Wiger, for kindly allowing us to use their materials. You will find that some of those exercises were altered to better suit our needs and many new ones added as well. Other scripts and tools are acknowledge individually, except for those written locally.

Students can use these pages for self assessment and exercises and some of us, Professors, use these quizzes to assign homework problems in different classes. In the latter case, the results of a student's exercise can be submitted for evaluation to an appropriate Professor or a TA. If you don't find your instructor's name upon submission of your quiz, then most likely this person does not participate in this program. Note that the web site and quizzes are optimized for IE4 and higher. Some quizzes will work with other browsers but it is not garantied.

Hint: If you have a problem assigned from this list by your instructor and if there is a minimium number of questions you are supposed to take, after finishing the requested minimum number of questions, you can send it to your instructor by pushing the "Submit" button. You will be asked afterwards to choose your class and the instructor. If you are not happy with your score, do not submit it right away - restart by pushing "Refresh"(Reload) button of your browser or by clicking on the quiz name from the menu. Try as many times as you want until you are happy with the score and then submit. Throughout these pages the correct way to enter numbers in scientific notations is by using "e", for example, 3.2 10-3 should be entered as 3.2e-3.

If you find any mistakes, misprints, misconfigurations and any other misses, please don't hesitate contacting me (at the email below). If you are a student in my class, you may get an extra point(s) for such help.

Classes in which these quizzes have been used: Chem100, Chem 101, Chem110, Chem111, Chem 112 , Chem 115 , Chem 116, Chem 431, Chem 433 , Chem 434 , Chem 435 , Chem 537, Chem 538 , Chem 539.
