What time is registration?
Registration times will be announced when the GRAS schedule is finalized, which will be on or before February 1.
Is there a registration fee for GRAS?
No. There is no registration fee to attend and/or participate in GRAS.
Can anybody attend the talks, performances, and poster sessions?
Yes, the entire symposium (except the banquet) can be attended by faculty, staff, and graduate or undergraduate students as well as non-university individuals. Attendance is completely free of charge.
Is there a fee for attending the banquet?
No. There are no fees associated with attending the awards banquet. However, we have a limited number of seats available, so attendance is limited to presenters, judges, and volunteers, and seats must be reserved when you sign up for presenting, judging, or volunteering.
Can I bring additional guests to the banquet?
Yes, but please mention if you plan on bringin a guest when you sign up.
Poster Presentations
What are the dimensions for posters?
Posters should be a maximum size of 42" x 42" (107 x 107 cm). Stands and thumbtacks will be provided for your posters.
When should I hang up my poster?
The date and time of the poster session will be posted on or before February 1. The poster room will be open 15 minutes before the poster session starts for presenters to hang up their posters.
Research Presentations
How long should my presentation be?
Research presentations will be 15 or 25 minutes long with an additional 5 minutes allowed for questions. The exact time length will be announced when the GRAS schedule is finalized, which will be on or before February 1.
Will projectors and computers be available?
Yes, projectors and PCs with PowerPoint will be available. It is not necessary to bring your own equipment.
When should I arrive for my presentation?
You should arrive ~15 minutes prior to your presentation. Please be considerate and do not disturb the presenter before you.
Should I submit (email) my presentation to the GRAS committee prior to the symposium?
We recommend that you bring your presentation on a flash drive or on a personal laptop. However, PowerPoint presentations may also be emailed to GRAS at gras.nmsu@gmail.com by Friday, February 25.
