Demise of WPLJ
On February 13, 2019, WPLJ and five other stations were sold with the buyer planning to transition the stations to its K-Love Christian radio format. Originally scheduled to happen at midnight on Saturday, June 1, the actual transition occurred the evening before at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31. Below are several recordings totaling over 156 hours of WPLJ in the days after the sale was announced and then over the days leading up to the transition at the end of May.
